Every summer, Wilderness Workshop hosts Wildfest, a communal bash to bring together our great supporters (and prospective members). It's our way of saying "thank you" for another great year, and to celebrate our work protecting and conserving the public lands we all cherish. We bring in live musical acts, fresh locally-sourced food and drink, kids entertainment, and a whole lot more family-friendly fun in a beautiful setting. We hope to see you this summer!

AAFAF will celebrate it's 15th annual show. The small mountain town is electric with fun events, outstanding weather and full of the world's elite collectors and art connoisseurs.

Hosted in the 16,000 sq/ft Ice Garden in downtown Aspen Colorado it is the ideal location to showcase the finest art, antiques, furniture, silver, and jewelry. It is a fun event for dealers and patrons surrounded by many holiday-weekend activities combining fine-art, exquisite-dining, and the best summer weather in the country.

Snowmass: Celebrate Fourth of July evening in Snowmass with lawn games, sweet treats, and more. The festive event culminates with fireworks over Fanny Hill at 9pm.

 

Aspen: Locals and visitors honor the nation's birthday with a parade, kids' carnival, live music, picnics, spectacular fireworks, and more. 

 

Join the Buddy Program in celebrating the 31st Anniversary of Boogie’s Buddy Race on July 4th, 2017! Kick off the 4th of July in style at this family-friendly event, which includes a 5-mile USA Track & Field and RRCA certified competitive race and a 1-mile family and canine run/walk. 

 

The annual free Fourth of July celebration brings the AMFS band to the Tent stage with stirring patriotic favorites. A beloved tradition.

Snowmass Fanny Hill free concert with the band Head for the Hills free concert. “Best in Colorado Bluegrass”

 

The Bash for the Buddies is the Buddy Program’s annual fundraising event, and THE party of the summer, that attracts over 500 supporters. Lenny “Boogie” Weinglass, will host this year’s Bash for the Buddies at his stunning home, the Merry-Go Ranch on McClain Flats in Aspen. The evening includes an incredible silent auction with cocktails and appetizers provided by some of the best restaurants in Aspen, dinner with premier live auction, followed by dancing and live music.

 

Put your best foot forward and Join us July 6, 2017 for Wine Women & Shoes Aspen. Grab your stilettos and come enjoy fine wine tastings, bites from the best local restaurants, shopping, handsome shoe guys, “Best in Shoe” contests, and more! The Deaf Camp Benefit is an annual celebration for the Aspen Camp of the Deaf & Hard of Hearing. Locals and visitors join together for fun under the sun on the slopes of Snowmass. Great music, delicious food, and beautiful scenery add up to an amazing day…all for a great cause. This year’s event will be extra special as it is Aspen Camp’s 50th Anniversary!

Grab your teammate and sign up for this boutique mountain tournament brought to you by Volleyball of the Rockies, organizers of some of the largest volleyball tournaments in the state. Sand and grass courts will be located throughout Snowmass Village and there will be plenty of spectating opportunities.

Snowmass Fanny Hill free concert with the band New Orleans Suspects arose from the primordial musical soup that is New Orleans, they were a fill-in band and an occasional jam band at their neighborhood Maple Leaf Bar.

Snowmass Fanny Hill free concert with the band Freddy Jones Band was founded by guitarists and singer/songwriters Marty Lloyd and Wayne Healy. The band is best known for its number-one hits “In A Daydream” and “Take The Time.” Now, this long-running act is back with their new release, Never Change

 

July 29-30

Aspen Snowmass will host the only U.S. stop of the Enduro World Series for the 2nd year in-a-row in 2017. The two-day event blends high altitude Colorado singletrack with some of the biggest descents and best riding in the area.

 

The combination of the Aspen Mountain, Bike Snowmass and Snowmass Bike Park terrain offer some of the most diverse mountain biking in the country. Aspen Snowmass offers the only lift served biking in the U.S. that can take riders on 4,000-foot descents, beginning above tree line and ending in the high mountain desert. Riders should expect to see six stages and over 15,000 feet of descending and 1,500 feet of climbing,

Colorado Scottish Festival, the highest elevation Scottish Festival in the world, is the only free admittance Scottish Festival in the Rocky Mountains! Art Aspen will ignite visitors’ passion for possession as they explore the aisles, discovering rare museum-caliber treasures and new frontiers in contemporary art. The Fair serves as an access point for discovery, dialogue and inspiration. It is all located in the center of town, just three short blocks from popular Wagner Park on West Hyman and First Streets, virtually at the base of Aspen’s spectacular Ajax Mountain. Art Aspen will create the perfect setting for art collectors, dealers, curators, art patrons and philanthropists to come together in a semi-private, world-class, relaxed and art-centric environment.

 

August 5-6

Audi Power of Four Trail Run Race. This event’s signature race is a challenging 50K Ultra that has been named the US Skyrunner Series North American Continental Championship. It covers the four Aspen Snowmass mountains utilizing a mix of singletrack and dirt road. The event also offers a 25K race along the famed Government Trail covering Buttermilk and Snowmass mountains and a Vertical K race up Aspen Mountain that is also part of the US Skyrunner Series.

 

August 5 

Audi Power of Four Mountain Bike Race. In 2017, Aspen Snowmass presents the 7th annual Audi Power of Four Mountain Bike race. The oldest in the race series features a point-to-point course covering the classic single-track on Government Trail plus a mix of the new flow trails on Snowmass and the challenging steep climbs and descents on both Aspen Highlands and Aspen Mountain. The full four-mountain course is a 33-mile race (plus or minus a few) with close to 10,000 feet in elevation gain and decent. A two-mountain course utilizes the same start in Snowmass and finishes at the base of Buttermilk’s Tiehack side after covering 18-miles of almost all single-track trails.

he Sixth Annual Science Street Fair will be a non-stop program of interactive exhibits, experiments, games, and shows designed to entertain and inspire.

Science stage performers like Dr. Kaboom! and Mr. Freeze will perform hourly.

 

August 12

Boasting spectacular views of the Elk Mountains and the city of Aspen, Colorado, the Aspen Backcountry Marathon & Half Marathon is run almost exclusively on high country dirt trails. Challenging ascents, exciting descents and wide diversity in terrain will challenge even the most well-trained athlete.

Starting & Finishing in the heart of downtown at Rio Grande Park where participants will be greeted by a crowd of spectators and supporters.  

So get your running shoes on and come run the most challenging and scenic marathon or half marathon you’ve ever run!

The JAS Cafe features intimate jazz performances in multiple venues around Aspen. Enjoy candlelit performances from some of the greatest jazz artists from around the world alongside delicious food and beverages. The 10-time Grammy winners return to the JAS Cafe having celebrated their 25th Anniversary last year. Take 6 floats between jazz and gospel roots while drawing from a variety of American musical genres.

Take 6 is the most awarded a cappella group in history, with 10 Grammy’s, 10 Dove Awards (Gospel Music Awards), Best Jazz Vocal Group honors for seven consecutive years in Downbeat’s prestigious Reader’s and Critic’s Poll, a Soul Train Music Award, BRE (Black Radio Exclusive) Vocal Group of the Year, two NAACP Image Award nominations, induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and countless other musical and humanitarian citations.

 

August 16

Hugh Wolff returns to Aspen for Stravinksy’s brilliantly orchestrated ballet, his first big hit. A devilishly arpeggiated piano solo portrays the grotesque puppet Petrushka as he ponders his inability to win the love of a ballerina, whose dance with Petrushka’s rival the Moor is introduced by a dazzling high trumpet solo. The idea for the piece was the composer’s own, and he wrote to his mother, “My Petrushka is turning out each day completely new, and there are new disagreeable traits in his character, but he delights me because he is absolutely devoid of hypocrisy.”

 

August 18-20

The Zoppé Italian Family Circus welcomes guests into the intimate 500 seat tent for a one-ring circus that honors the best history of the Old-World Italian tradition. Starring Nino the clown, the circus is propelled by a central story (as opposed to individual acts) that feature acrobatic feats, equestrian showmanship, canine capers, clowning and plenty of audience participation. This intimate theatrical show has been entertaining audiences for seven generations with an enchanting exhibition of European Circus.

 

August 23-27

MountainSummit: Mountainfilm in Aspen is a documentary film festival - in partnership with Telluride Mountainfilm showcasing nonfiction stories about environmental, cultural, climbing, political and social justice issues that matter. Along with exceptional documentaries, the festival goes beyond the film medium by bringing together world-class athletes, speakers, change makers and visionary artists for a multi-dimensional celebration of the indomitable spirit.

There’s nothing quite like the Rocky Mountain Runner’s High that you’ll experience at Ragnar Relay Colorado. Reaching 10,000 ft. at its highest point, it has been dubbed as one of the hardest Ragnar Relays in the series. You will start the journey at Copper Mountain Ski Resort and tackle 200-ish miles of relay running through the heart of four world-famous Colorado ski towns. Ragnarians will find their inner wild among sweeping vistas, glittering waterways and larger than life mountains. Medal lust, craft beer, and a party will pull you towards the finish line at Snowmass where you’ll celebrate together and share stories of a lifetime.

Aspen Summer Holiday. A party with purpose.  Proceeds from Aspen Summer Holiday will go towards The National LGBTQ Task Force and other organizations vital to protecting and advancing progress for our community.  The Task Force has benefited over 70 organizations and programs with donations that have exceeded $2.4 million.  Additional fundraising events will benefit One Colorado, The Generations Project and other important non-profits supporting LGBT communities.

The MotherLode Volleyball Classic is celebrating its 45th year of serving up some of the "Best Volleyball East of the Pacific Coast Highway".  Considered one of America's iconic grassroots Events, The "Lode attracts players from all over the United States and Canada competing in 21 different divisions including Men's and Women's Masters/Seniors and Open divisions; Co-Ed (and, Reverse Co-Ed) and Men's and Women's A, BB and B.

Taking place in one of America's top ski/summer resorts (Aspen), The MotherLode offers a unique, end-of-the-season Tourney that keeps competitors coming back year-after-year. Come and experience one of the Country's most exciting grassroots volleyball Events.

 

September 1-3 

The JAS Labor Day Experience includes three days of world-class music with crowds of up to 11,000 per day. In addition to headline performances on the main stage, two side stages keep the music going throughout the day with a mix of up and coming artists. The JAS Village provides shopping, eclectic food and beverage vendors, kids corner and more. Make plans to attend the Hottest 72 Hours of the Summer!

The 2017 lineup includes Maroon 5, Keith Urban, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Daryl Hall & John Oates, The Roots and more!

 

September 8-10

The Snowmass Balloon Festival fills the sky with one of the highest-altitude balloon events in the country. Over three days, 30 pilots compete in challenges such as a distance race that covers the whole Roaring Fork Valley. Highlights include Saturday Evening Glow on Fanny Hill and free music with light show featuring brightly colored balloons lighting up the night sky. All Balloon Festival events are free.

 

September 14-17

Vehicles of all shapes and sizes gather in Snowmass for an action packed week featuring all things auto, including a vintage car race, car rallies and a car show. Snowmass & Car Club Week will have any automobile enthusiast swooning. Confirmed car clubs include Porsche, Ferrari, Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing, BMW, Audi, Cobra, Viper and more!

 

September 14 

Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing is pleased to announce The Aspen Snowmass Vintage Car Race, a new high-octane street race, set for Thursday, September 14th, 2017. The Aspen Snowmass Vintage Car Race will feature 60 vintage race cars from the 1960’s and 1970’s, competing in the first automotive race in 19 years to occur completely on Town streets. The last time a race of this caliber was held in ski country was in 1998 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

 

September 15-16

Experience a weekend of incredible food, flavors, sights and sounds at the Snowmass Wine Festival, hosted by Rotary Club of Snowmass Village. Kick off the weekend with an extraordinary four-course wine dinner on Friday evening at the Viceroy Snowmass, prepared by chef Will Nolan.

Then sip and savor in the sun at Saturday’s Grand Tasting where attendees can sample a vast variety of top wines and taste cuisine from some of the Valley’s best-known restaurants. Voted by Colorado Runner as the Best Half Marathon & chosen by Trail Runner Magazine as one of “America’s 14 most scenic races”. The Golden Leaf is one of the most beautiful foot races in the Rockies.  This 13.1 mile half marathon traverses from Snowmass Village to the heart of Aspen on mountain trails and roads at the height of Colorado’s breathtaking fall colors.

39th annual Aspen Film Festival. Aspen Film's flagship event is a noncompetitive festival showcasing narrative and documentary features, a dynamic mix of award-worthy fall previews, and acclaimed independent films from the international festival circuit. Filmfest audiences are often among the first in the country to see films like Room, The Imitation Game, Whiplash, Argo, The Artist, The King's Speech, and Nebraska.

The Meeting. n its 13th year, The Meeting will once again deliver an unforgettable weekend of film, music, industry conference, networking and all around snow stoke.

 

October 13-14

The 20th anniversary celebration of the life and music of John Denver. These evenings will be full of John's most memorable songs and as always, a bit of comedy. Featuring Bill Danoff, Jim Horn, Chris Nole, Alan Deremo, Mollie Weaver, Mack Bailey, Jim Salestrom, Denny Brooks, Richie Garcia, Gary Mule Deer, Jim Curry and Gordon Lustig.
